We Lead the Way to Environmental Responsibility
Trans Express is committed to reducing the impact its business operations have on the environment. Because an overwhelming majority of consumer goods are transported by truck every day throughout North America, the industry has a responsibility to minimize environmental damage caused by fuel emissions and other pollution.
Environmental responsibility is an ongoing priority for Trans Express. To date, the following programs are in place to reduce our ecological footprint on the earth:
Fleet and Operations
- Trucks undergo rigorous preventive maintenance to minimize breakdowns and repairs; average age of trucks is less than two years ensuring performance efficiency
- Recently acquired trucks meet the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) stringent standards for reduced gas emissions and harmful pollutants
- Use of railway to transport goods whenever possible, reducing trucks on road
- Entire fleet runs on flex-fuel technology, reducing CO2 emissions
- Fleet utilizes high-performance lubricants; well-oiled engines run more efficiently, reduce gas consumption, minimize friction and preserve parts
- C-TPAT certification expedites clearance and reduces idle time at North American border crossings

Administration Offices
- Increased awareness of environmental responsibility at all levels of staff, administration, suppliers and business partners
- Recycling program in place for daily reduction of paper, plastic, can and bottle waste, including cardboard packaging and shipping supplies
- Goal for 2009: offices to become paperless environments
“We strive continuously to find new operating processes, tools, programs and support to contribute to a sustainable environment. It is a corporate-wide initiative for Trans Express and we have already made significant steps towards protecting our ecological future.”
- Carlos Yazbeck, President
